Benefits of infrared sauna are detoxification
We have all heard the word detoxification, or detox, but I find most of us really under-estimate the impact that toxins and chemicals have on our body and the importance of detoxifying correctly. Everyone in this world is exposed to and has toxins within our body. There are more than 77,000 chemicals in use in the USA with more than 3,000 chemicals being added to our food supply, not to mention what is already found digested in our meat sources. Over 10,000 chemicals are in the form of solvents, emulsifiers, and preservatives that are used in food processing, packaging, wrapping, and storage. Studies have demonstrated that most of us have between 400 and 800 chemical residues stored in the fat cells of our bodies. Most of these potentially harmful chemicals become stored within our fat cells and cannot be metabolized (excreted). As these chemicals build up, they alter our metabolism, cause enzyme dysfunction and nutritional deficiencies, create hormonal imbalances, damage brain chemistry, and cause cancer. For these reasons and many others, it has been shown that the single most effective treatment for detoxification is Far Infrared Sauna Therapy.
Several published studies have now shown that this hyperthermic [sauna] therapy can bring about the rapid removal of a wide range of toxic substances from the human body. In a study done by American researchers they discovered that the sweat produced from a conventional sauna was around 95% water. In the same study the results pointed out that sweat derived from the use of a far infrared sauna was approximately 80% water with the remaining percentages being a mix of cholesterol, toxic heavy metals and an array of other unwanted chemical and mineral substances that can prevent our immune system from functioning properly, therefore robbing us of a much more healthy existence. These toxins and other problematic substances are thus removed with greater efficiency when using a far infrared sauna.
Far infrared saunas are said to be up to 7 times more effective than a conventional sauna in regards to detoxification. Toxins that are stated to be removed include sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, lead, mercury, nicotine, alcohol, ammonia, sulphuric acid and other environmental and man-made toxins.
Many individuals who cannot tolerate a conventional sauna, steam room or sweat lodge will find far infrared saunas pleasant. A conventional sauna ranges from 185 to 230 degrees F but far infrared saunas range from 90 to 145 degrees F. The far infrared rays, which have a wavelength of 7-14 microns, are especially good for the human body. These waves have the potential to penetrate 1.5 to 2 inches or more into the body allowing for deep heat and raising your core body temperature from deep inside. This wavelength will cause a water molecule to resonate or vibrate. And it is this vibration that causes a release of cellular toxins through our sweat and eliminated from the body.
